Description

Once Tom installs the OpenID authentication plugin for nycga.net, people will be able to log onto permabank using their existing nycga.net account. We need to determine the precise OpenID endpoint URL and work it into the interface so that logging in is as smooth as possible.

I added a project for this here: http://projects.occupytechnology.org/projects/open-id-provider. Does that make sense? I added since it is outside of Permabank and can be used on all web projects, if I understood correctly.

Is there an update on this? Dan, Ori mentioned this was almost completed, is that correct? Can you add an update note here?

I think this is done, I activated the plugin on production and was able to test login using http://www.openid-ldap.org/test.php with my author URL http://www.nycga.net/author/dan/

Ori, can you test how it integrates w/ your permabank openid process and let me know what else needs doing?

Update from Ori:

so nycga.net now supports openid authentication, and i implemented signon to the site using nycga.net. it's quite seamless
it'll be up on permabank.ep.io later tonight

Can I suggest that a users openid link be displayed on their profile page for easy usage. I'll be trying to get a diaspora pod up, and would love to be able to utilize this to immediately have anyone registered able to use it.

So, I've got an OpenID plugin setup on forum.occupy.net but it's not able to authenticate using the identity on nycga.net. I can authenticate through google/twitter/facebook, but not this one.

Error is:

OpenID login failed: Invalid openid.mode \'checkid_setup\'
