Description
Site activity notification templates are currently in a form such that the user name appears in the subject line, which prompts gmail to treat them as individual messages.
For site users who prefer to follow activity via email, and read selected conversations, this results in a huge number of jumbled notifications. 5 updates to 5 conversations = 25 unique messages.
The general format appears to be:
<username> <started/created/added/replied/edited> <content type> <content name> in the group <group name> "NYC General Assembly # Occupy Wall Street"
This is certainly suitable as the first line in the body of the email, but the subject could be as brief as:
<NYCGA.NET update: <content type> <content name>
There are those that may prefer verbose subject lines, and not all email clients will be able to take advantage of this, but generally speaking I think it's preferable.
