I registered this morning on http://projects.occupytechnology.org/ and immediately tried to log in and it said my user and pass were wrong. I reset my password and tried again and got the same error - either I'm having massive and immediate short term memory loss, or there is a problem with the log in routines.

i believe this was due to the way user registration was set to work - you create, admins approve - and the user feedback was just annoying and misleading. i've changed it now to work based solely on email verification (so requiring no intervention from admins), and haven't heard other reports of this, so i'm gonna mark it resolved.
please reopen if the issue persists!

That was me - I tried again with a different username, email address, etc - this time I got the email verification and it worked perfectly. This is resolved as far as I can tell. Thanks!
